Haruko HaruharaFuriKuri Completed:Ongoing, Why: Haruko is my favorite character out of any anime ever. I loev how she's crazy, manipulative, grungy, and an alien. Ever since I first saw FLCL in 2001, I couldn't get enough of the outrageous show! I love how she hits things and rides around on her vespa. My first Haruko costume was the third thing I ever sewed, way back in 2001. I decided I must do everyone of Haruko's outfits. How: The most recent vest was made from red pleather, and sewn from my own pattern, with the stripes being sewn into the jacket, not just on top. Boots covers are made from cream vinyl, overtop a pair of white boots. The gloves were hand made by me from my own pattern out of tan suede. Bracelet was made by the incredible Julie as a present! Pilot googles and davida helmet were purchased from JapanHelmet on ebay. The rickenbacker was a three person project. My friend Matt made a scale replica of a rickenbacker out of pine and wood epoxy. Tenshikun sanded, painted, and made plastic add ons for the guitar. I did touch ups, frets, strings, and the engine on the back. I think I've decided to dye my hair pink instead of using a wig. Comments: This will always be my favorite costume ever, and I don't plan on retiring it for a long long time. I wear the vest out most of the time to the store and what not! I am comstantly updating thigns and fixing making it better, I want to get this costume as best as I can. I have to thank my flcl crew for being the best ever, even though I never got a full group picture, I love you all! We may have moved on with our lives but I'll never forget the times I had in this costume. Awards won:Hall Award: Jacon 2003.
