Naga WhitesnakeSlayers OAV Completed: September 2007 Why: Slayers was one of the first animes I really fell in love with, and both Lina and Naga are some of my favorite characters. While I am neither short nor flat, like Lina Inverse, I decided to go with Naga. She's so funny and arrogant, and just love Naga. Especially her laugh. How: Since Naga is royalty, I made sure to choose pretty high quality fabrics for the costume. The cape is made from royal velvet, lined with wedding satin and organza. The top and bottom were both handmade, not purchased, from spadex and cotton with conforming foam. I decided to go with fabric armor, instead of trying to make those ridiculous spikes out of metal or resin. I made it from PCV vinyl stretched over a foam base. The spikes took alot of handsewing. I took care to put alot of details into her jewlery and belt. I made her voodoo necklace from sculpy, foam, and furniture gloss. I tried to keep everything a shade of purple instead of plain black, because she IS a princess! Comments: I love being Naga, I love doing the laugh and having the attitude. Carrying a gigantic lollipop is fun too. Next time I wear this, I need to brighten up the Make-up, and find myself a Lina! Awards won: None.
